This was a proud achievement for the former slave who became an engineer in the 1800s in Scotland; though he could not work as an engineer in the country he was from. His patented machine was the one that solved the equation . . .

The Blessing As Stated in  Numbers . . .

Numbers - Korach

The blessing is upon this place as Moscha lead Israel into victory from Misraem.

16:1  First Reading
Korach son of Yitz'har (a grandson of Kehoth and great-grandson of Levi) began a rebellion along with Dathan and Aviram (sons of Eliav) and On son of Peleth, descendants of Reuben.
Vayikach Korach ben-Yitshar ben-Kehat ben-Levi veDatan va'Aviram beney Eli'av ve'On ben-Pelet beney Re'uven.
16:2  They had a confrontation with Moses along with 250 Israelites who were men of rank in the community, representatives at the assembly, and famous.
Vayakumu lifney Moshe va'anashim mibeney-Yisra'el chamishim umatayim nesi'ey edah kri'ey mo'ed anshey-shem.

16:3  They demonstrated against Moses and Aaron, and declared to them, 'You have gone too far! All the people in the community are holy, and God is with them. Why are you setting yourselves above God's congregation?'
Vayikahalu al-Moshe ve'al-Aharon vayomeru alehem rav-lachem ki chol-ha'edah kulam kedoshim uvetocham Adonay umadua titnase'u al-kehal Adonay.
16:4  When Moses heard this, he threw himself on his face.
Vayishma Moshe vayipol al-panav.

16:5  Then he spoke to Korach and his whole party. '[Tomorrow] morning,' he said, 'God [will show that He] knows who is His and who is holy, and He will bring them close to Him. He shall choose those who shall [be allowed to] present [offerings] to Him.
Vayedaber el-Korach ve'el-kol-adato lemor boker veyoda Adonay et-asher-lo ve'et-hakadosh vehikriv elav ve'et asher yivchar-bo yakriv elav.

16:7  Tomorrow, place fire on them and offer incense on them before God. The man whom God chooses shall then be the holy one. You sons of Levi have [also] gone too far!'
Utenu vahen esh vesimu aleyhen ketoret lifney Adonay machar vehayah ha'ish asher-yivchar Adonay hu hakadosh rav-lachem beney Levi.
16:8  Moses tried to reason with Korach. 'Listen [to what I have to say], you sons of Levi.
Vayomer Moshe el-Korach shim'u-na beney Levi.

16:9  Isn't it enough that the God of Israel has separated you from the community of Israel? He has brought you close to Him, allowing you to serve in God's Tabernacle and to minister as the community's leaders.
Hame'at mikem ki-hivdil Elohey Yisra'el etchem me'adat Yisra'el lehakriv etchem elav la'avod et-avodat Mishkan Adonay vela'amod lifney ha'edah leshartam.

16:11  It is actually against God that you and your party are demonstrating! After all, who is Aaron that you should have grievances against him?'
Lachen atah vechol-adatecha hano'adim al-Adonay ve'Aharon mah-hu ki talinu alav.

16:12  Moses then sent word to summon Dathan and Aviram, the sons of Eliav.

'We won't come!' was their response.
Vayishlach Moshe likro le-Datan vela-Aviram beney Eli'av vayomeru lo na'aleh.
16:13  Isn't it enough that you brought us out [Egypt], a land flowing with milk and honey - just to kill us in the desert! What right do you have to set yourself above us?
Hame'at ki he'elitanu me'erets zavat chalav udevash lahamitenu bamidbar ki-tistarer aleynu gam-histarer.

16:14  Second Reading
You didn't bring us to a land flowing with milk and honey, or give us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Do you think that you can pull something over our eyes? We will definitely not come!'
Af lo el-erets zavat chalav udvash havi'otanu vatiten-lanu nachalat sadeh vacharem ha'eyney ha'anashim hahem tenaker lo na'aleh.

16:15  Moses became very angry. He prayed to God, 'Do not accept their offering. I did not take a single donkey from them! I did not do any of them any harm!'

16:17  Each man shall take his fire pan and place incense on it, and each one shall then present it before God. [There shall thus be] 250 fire pans [besides] the pans that you and Aaron will have.'

17:3  The fire pans belonging to the men who committed a mortal sin have been presented before God and thus sanctified, so he shall make them into beaten plates to cover the altar. Let this be a sign for the Israelites.'

Vayikach El'azar hakohen et machtot hanechoshet asher hikrivu hasrufim vayerake'um tsipuy lamizbe'ach.

17:5  It was to be a reminder for the Israelites, so that no one other than a descendant of Aaron shall bring unauthorized fire and burn incense before God. They shall then not be like Korach and his party. [Eleazar thus did] as God had told him through Moses.
